We are delighted to announce Natasha Raphoz has been appointed as the new Director of English across the Trust. Natasha joins us from the Harris Federation and will take up her post in the September at the start of the new academic year. We asked Natasha a few questions ahead of her joining:
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
A: I have been a teacher since 2007 and have held various leadership positions throughout my career, both within departments and across whole schools. Most recently, I focused on school improvement within a large Multi Academy Trust (Harris Federation).
Q: What qualificiations have you gained?
A: I am an accredited Advanced Skills Teacher, a Specialist Leader of Education, and I've completed the National Professional Qualification for Leading Teacher Development. Additionally, I've received OFSTED training for subject deep dives, allowing me to dive deeper into specific areas of the curriculum.
Q: What do you feel are your strengths that you will bring to the Director of English role?
A: I believe my combination of pedagogical knowledge, subject expertise, and strong interpersonal skills makes a real difference. My track record in school improvement speaks for itself.
Q: What is your teaching philosophy?
A: I am passionate about education and believe children thrive when challenged in a supportive and encouraging environment. I am approachable and collaborative, and I hold myself and my team to a high standard. I am looking forward to working in my new role as Director of English for the Trust!
